History of EXPO?

EXPO is referred to an event for gathering knowledge globally to create a world that is worth living in. More than a mere exhibition of products, EXPO showcases ideas, cultures and projects that concern the world’s future.
It is the largest cultural, historical and educational Olympiad in the world.
“World Exhibition”, is held every five years and runs for six months. Its participants include nations, international institutions, non-governmental organizations and companies. One of the most important characteristics of any Expo is its theme. The comprehensive themes of world expositions are universal ideas and relate to the whole of humanity.
The 2010 World Expo was held in Shanghai, China, and hosted a total of 73 million visitors.
Milan, Italy is hosting the 2015 World Expo.

Important facts, figures and dates in the history of EXPO

 The first Expo or World’s Fair was held in 1851. Expos continues to make cultural, scientific and technological contributions today.

The Eiffel Tower was established as an iconic monument for visitors to the French capital when France hosted the event in Paris in 1889.

1851 - One of the oldest and largest international events of the world; Expo in other words, is the World's Exhibition.
168 countries are members of Bureau of International Expositions (BIE) the intergovernmental organization in charge of overseeing and regulating World Expos, and each country has the right to a single vote.
55 International Expositions have so far been held worldwide.
Television was exhibited for the first time in 1939 at the New York World Expo.
